Alessia Cara
At the age of 19, she published her first debut single, Here. This single received a lot of praise and was well-received from critics as well as listeners. The song reached the top spot at 19 on both the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the song one of the Top Songs in 2015. That same year, she debuted her album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being the first of five tracks that peaked at Billboard charts, including the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. It was a special track due to her Rap-Up interview she did with people who listened to her music could connect to her experiences of learning to love themselves and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara is known for including messages on mental health, kindness and love of self in her songs. Everything stems from her personal experience as she suffered from mental health problems and insomnia. In a Reuters interview, she's said that her album was half turbulent however, it is half finished. She found that therapy helped her grow and urges other artists to follow the same path. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born July 11, 1996, to parents of Italian heritage. Her first guitar was purchased by her parents after she was 10 years old, which sparked the passion for music. Three years later, when she was 13 she started singing her favorite tracks on YouTube. It proved to be a fantastic opportunity to show others the fact that she had talent and courage. Indeed one of the covers Sweater Weather got her noticed by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to compose and record the tracks.
